In this Part 2, Rick and I talk about the little-known extensive use of depth astrology by C.G. This makes a key contribution to the next step in our contemporary awakening: leveraging and going beyond the integration of the core enduring insights of our indigenous and modern minds, to a conscious awareness that we are participant co-creators of reality in ever-evolving interactive dialogue with the cosmos itself. In part 1 of the dialogue with Richard Tarnas, we highlight the facet of “depth archetypal astrology” as reclaimed and so richly and innovatively reformulated in Rick’s monumental Cosmos and Psyche. You be the judge as you listen to these discussions.ĭuncan Campbell with Richard Tarnas Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of an Evolving New World View and Initiating A New World View Through Dialogue I have been a huge fan of Tarnas's The Passion of the Western Mind, but his more recent book, Cosmos and Psyche, feels to me to be a little heavy on the Woo. There's no tidy and agreed-upon definition of what constitutes creativity in photography. Many creative individuals might spend their time looking for ways to be, well, more creative! What is Creative Photography? So much time alone can be used in a few ways. Photographers used to work with new people and models may be feeling like they're stuck in a bit of a rut, unable to continue with their normal workflow. Significant events are cancelled, socially distanced get-togethers are harder to shoot. Photographers have been just as isolated as everyone else. The coronavirus pandemic has forced many of us to be stuck at home, self quarantined and isolated from our friends and family. But at the same time, all of us as individuals have had to disconnect. Never before has the world been so connected–connected by the same crisis, sharing the same problems, and fighting the same demons. 7/7/2023 0 Comments My brilliant career authorShe wrote more novels about the Australian bush under the pseudonym Brent of Bin Bin, and she was actively involved in Australia’s literary world. In her time away from home, her patriotism and love of Australia grew, and she returned to Australia in 1932. In 1915, she moved to England, where she continued to write. For the next several years, Franklin worked as a secretary and assisted in philanthropic efforts. As a young woman, she worked as a nurse and a housemaid until moving to the United States in 1906. Her family could not afford an extensive education, but Franklin nevertheless took an interest in literature and writing, and she published My Brilliant Career when she was only 22. Her family moved around during her childhood and early adulthood, losing more and more money until they finally settled in a suburb of Sydney in 1915. Like the protagonist of her novel My Brilliant Career, Miles Franklin was the daughter of an Australian landowner and a descendant of aristocrats. The story, set back in the 1800's, tells of Elisa, the main character who doesn't seem to thrive in this world, but in another. Thankfully, she agreed to send me a copy. IT AMAZES ME THAT some people have seen “Bloodchild” as a story of slavery. I partly assumed that because Butler is African-American, but Butler herself assures us it’s not in her afterward to the story in her collection Bloodchild and Other Stories. The first time I read “Bloodchild” I assumed it was about slavery. But I keep asking, “Why is it great?” What ingredients did Butler use to cook up such a tale? I’ve read “Bloodchild” three times now, and it is a great story. It has 18 citations that remember it over the last 35+ years. It’s the #1 story on our Classics of Short Science Fiction list. I’ve been waiting months for us to get to “Bloodchild” by Octavia Butler. Story #72 of 107: “Bloodchild” by Octavia E. In fact I liked listening to this story better than I liked reading Steelheart, so I think I will listen to the next book in this series on audiobook. The narration for the audiobook was excellent and this little story packs a lot of punch and was highly entertaining. In addition we also get to see how Newcago is handling its new rule and structure.Īt the end of the short story we get a little teaser about what Firefight will be about as well. The Reckoners es una trilogía de novelas de superhéroes para adultos jóvenes creada por el autor estadounidense Brandon Sanderson.La serie consta de Steelheart (2013), la novela corta Mitosis (2013), Firefight (2015) y Calamity (2016). This is a very short listen (1hr) but I was impressed by how engaging this short story was. I listened to this on audiobook, which I got free from. Newcago is trying to rebuild and restructure after the events of Steelheart. This was a very good addition to Steelheart, but DO NOT READ BEFORE STEELHEART! This book picks up where we left off at the end of Steelheart. Įverything stays under control until Ed’s wife Cara, gets a concussion and can’t keep her thoughts to herself. While some people clash, other people like each other far too much. Under the surface, though, conditions are murkier. Johnny’s wife, Jessie – who has the most money – insists on it. Johnny Casey, his two brothers Ed and Liam, their beautiful, talented wives and all their kids spend a lot of time together – birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weekends away. True to form, Keyes’ latest novel, Grown Ups, is full of gloriously messy, relatable characters, each living their far-from-perfect / dysfunctional lives, and we wouldn’t want a family saga any other way tbh. Adulthood, deceit, infidelity, addiction, mental health – no one can handle such pertinent and difficult subject matter quite like Marian Keyes. |
